Members of the senior class gathered in the parking lot to watch the sunrise on Oct. 6, a kind kick off celebration of their final year of high school. While the clouds prevented a perfect sunrise, the Class of 2024, many armed with Starbucks and Dunkin, was determined to see the morning through.

Senior class sponsor Ms. Cavanagh said the student council pushed to make the morning a reality.

Senior Sunrise has been done in the past, but not in recent years. The class officers were interested, so we did what we could to make it happen.”

“It was really bittersweet as a senior but it was great to spend time with friends I don’t see very often”

She said she enjoyed watching the students hang out and agreed that “events like this really bring the senior class together and create more lasting memories in their last year of high school”.

Senior Alex Pack said that the event was “worth waking up for.” Apart from the lack of sun, she said, “Me and my friends just sat in my car, took pictures, and ate our munchkins. It was a really sweet memory in general.”

Alex’s friends Hannah Lake and Nicole Paone shared similar feelings.

“It was really bittersweet as a senior but it was great to spend time with friends I don’t see very often,” Lake said.

Paone agreed and added “Even though the sunrise wasn’t the best, it was still fun!”

Ms. Cavanaguh also gave insight into an end-of-the-year event for the graduating class.

Seniors can expect another Senior Sunset at the end of the school year.”
