
The Unified Track and Field Team ended their season on April 23 when more than 70 Warriors and their partners joined Pottsgrove and Springford for MHS’s Senior Day.
The team honored 16 seniors: Elizabeth Steiner, Emily Miller, Misha Patel, Avalina Willis, Gulianna Simcox, Kyra Maurer, Kaley Fisher, Eva Doulgerakis, Sumana Chaganti, Emily Yeh, Brianna Katz, Mianna Ly, Matt Rieger, Gus Mandracchia, Madison Roeger and Ryan McCann.
Steiner talked about why the program is such a good one to be a part of.
“It was easy because everyone includes one another. Everyone’s really supportive and loves each other, and they’re very positive.”

Rieger who has been a part of the team for two seasons, added that the program is a meaningful one.
“I had a lot of fun this season helping out with the unified track team. I think it’s really good what [we] do,” he said.
Unified events include foot races on the track, including relays, shot put, long jump and mini javelin.
Avinash Joshi who throws the mini javelin and runs the 100 meter in this, his third season, enjoyed the weather and the team’s effort.
“I think [the meet] is going great! The weather’s great, the vibes are great!” he said.

Sean Harris, a first-season competitor, runs the 800 meter race and throws the mini javelin. He also appreciated his fellow Warriors.
“It’s going amazing. We’re looking good out here. It’s a team sport, and everyone’s playing their part.” Sean .
Coaches Sarah Quintois, Jen Kaplan, and volunteer assistants Matt Alzamora and Rebecca DeCarlo have all put a lot of time and effort into this group which rounded out their sixth season.
The Warriors finished second in all three meets which was not enough to propel them into the championship meet.
