State ranked cross country team looks to PACs to continue record-setting season

The boys cross-country team is turning heads this season, and is set to turn more throughout the end of their season. With PACS coming up on Oct. 21, the season is winding down, but the runners are only speeding up.

Senior Chris McGlynn set a new school record with a 5k time of 15:41 at the Lehigh University Paul Short Meet. Earlier in the season, freshman Charles Reith ran a school record 3k in 11:14 at the Briarwood Invitational. Nearly every runner on the team has achieved a personal record so far this season.

The Warriors stand at 4-1 on the season and are ranked eight in the state. The team’s biggest rival, Owen J Roberts, is responsible for Methacton’s only loss.

Coach Savitz says that the team should earn first or second place at PACS on Oct. 21 at Heebner Park in Collegeville. He added that the team is “the fastest team he’s had in 17 years.”
