High school students in all of the music department’s fields–orchestra, band, and chorus–practiced for months in an effort to host their annual holiday concert at Arcola. The chorale, performing pieces such as See Amid the Winter Snow and Jesus Christ the Apple Tree, began the event by singing while entering the seating area. Next up was the string orchestra that featured four numbers such as The Chronicles of Narnia and Pacem Noel. The jazz choir entered next concluding with You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch. After sessions by the concert band and concert choir, the groups combined to end the evening, featuring pieces that included selections from The Polar Express.
