FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) hosted its annual Halloween costume contest on Oct. 31 in the cafeteria during all lunches . A club that focuses on hosting events for the school and giving back to the local community, FCCLA runs the event as a way to lift school spirit.
This year’s costume contest winners were Dillon P. as the BubbleGum Bandit, Weronika Luczaj as Prince Gristle From Trolls, and Kaiden Doll as a Robber. Lunch winners earned a bag of candy.
At the end of each lunch period Ms. Pillman and Mrs. An, the club sponsors, judged the best costumes. After that, the best costume overall won a $25 gift card to Wawa.
That prize went to Luczaj.
The staff also held their own contest. Those included “The Art Dealers” by the art department, Inside Out 2 by the science department, “Mime Ya Business” by the English department, and Superheroes by the administration.
Ms. Pillman said students interested in getting involved with FCCLA club can attend the monthly meetings. Meetings can ramp up to two-three times a week when events, such as Mr. Methacton, get closer.
Besides Mr. Methacton and the costume contest, FCCLA also sponsors “holiday shopping during Christmas time” and Senior Kisses as the year comes to a close. Students interested in school spirit, helping out those in need, or helping put on fun activities should consider joining FCCLA.
The mission of FCCLA is “To promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education.
