MHS seniors entered the football stadium between 6:30 and 6:45 a.m. on Oct. 5 to celebrate one of the first senior events of the school year. Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, cameras, and blankets in hand, seniors were ready for the sunrise.
The morning, pitch black at first, gave wave to a sunrise positioned between the end of the high school’s east wing and the football stadium adjacent to Mill Road.
Alexandra Dobai was one of the students who brought her digital camera to take pictures with her friends. She said she wanted an additional way to “remember the event.” Dobai has always been one to promote school spirit and said this was something she has been looking forward to since last year.
“I think it’s a great way to celebrate how far our class has come as a whole and just enjoy additional time with your friends doing something meaningful.”
Senior Tom MacNeel and his friends drove together. He said it was “surreal” to finally be in the class participating in the senior festivities, but added that he is “grateful to be one step closer to graduation.”
To bookend this event, the senior class will look toward late May or early June 2025, when they will host a senior sunset in the football stadium.
