Methacton rounds out the spring concert season
The spring orchestra, chorus, and band concerts featured their final shows spanning late April through late May. The events featured final farewells from seniors marking their final moments on stage with the groups they’ve grown with over the years. Each group had a number of accomplished participants as well throughout the school year.
Orchestra

Orchestra students participated in festivals outside the district as well this year.
The Montgomery County Honors Spring Orchestra selected Benjamin Kurtz (base), Vera-Mae Mann (base), Lena Smoyer (base) and Joshua Chew (viola).
During Methacton’s appearance at the Shannondell Art Show, the following chamber strings students performed: Oliver Brower, Jeffery Fan, Benjamin Kurtz, Aiden O’Leary, Suh-Yun Park, Tristan Skinner, Lena Smoyer, Joshua Chew and Olivia Yoon.
Students also participated at different levels of the PMEA Orchestra Festivals. District finalists included Micha Abraham (cello), Matthew Chung (cello), Jeffery Fan (violin), Victoria Fan (violin), Allison Lee (violin) and Gilbert Yang (viola). Moving on to Regionals were Micha Abraham, Matthew Chung and Victoria Fan. Matthew Chung advanced to the state level.

Mandi Chesney, Varsha Iyengar and Cece Cavallo performed with the district choir this school year while Chesney moved on to the regional choir.

Band

The Concert Band featured Bamboo Warrior, a Medley from Aladdin, and Extraordinary Machines of Clockwork and Steam. Then, senior Oliver Brower, who won the MAPS Solo Keyboard Championships, performed a marimba solo called Land by Tokatsuga Muramatsu. The Jazz Ensemble rounded out the night with four songs, including Ever After and Muy Caliente featuring a number of solos.
