This year’s coffeehouse was especially important as long time officers Young,Fennell, and Bhoir are graduating seniors, and this would be one of the final coffeehouses they would be able to attend.
The Medicine and Science Club hosted its first coffee house of the year on Nov. 18.
“It’s a good way to get students together to have fun, while raising money for a good cause at the same time,” said club officer Ava Fennell.
Adhara Reddy, another club officer, claims that it’s a great space for everyone to relax after a long day of school.
Reddy added how the club loved hosting the event as a team.
“It gives the Medicine and Science Club something to work towards and think about during our meetings,” she said.
Officers and members sold drinks and snacks to raise money for Simon’s Heart, a foundation dedicated to raising awareness about and preventing sudden cardiac arrest in children and adults.
While students enjoyed coffee hot chocolate and an assortment of snacks, they enjoyed karaoke performances by their classmates.
Last year, the Medicine and Science Club’s coffee house raised $200 for MDDS Foundation.
According to the club teacher/advisor Mr. Adoff, the Medicine and Science Club will have at least one more coffee house event before the end of the year, so make sure to come!
