The Electric Car Club has transported its box truck to NMTCC, a facility that has the appropriate equipment, such as an engine lift, in order to continue its conversion to a biodiesel engine. The lift allowed the club to extract the 1,000 pound engine. The club will continue to work through midterm week to continue the truck’s transition.

The Methacton Electric Car Club was founded by Mr. Sabbaths to educate the public on alternative energy for vehicles. They have worked on many projects over the years, including a kit car conversion to solar power and a Ford Ranger to run on batteries. The club is currently working on a Trident Spitfire conversion, and are transitioning the box truck to run on vegetable oil.

They have taken cars to display at the Philadelphia Auto Show to teach about alternative energy.
